Food and drink provision will be widely available throughout the event site, this includes event specific food and drink stands as well as the existing bars, cafes and restaurants at Navigation Point.

 

Point of interest – The Hartlepool Small Crafts Association is the oldest club in the Middleton Ward, it has a large beer garden and will be serving food and drink throughout the event. It is set back from our main entertainment areas but is one place to encourage visitors or crew to go and explore.

The event site is fully licensed and both non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages will be on sale. Responsible drinking is encouraged and a Challenge 25 policy is in place.

water refill stations

There are lots of water refill stations located throughout the event site at all Information Points. We encourage the use of refillable drinks bottles.

There are five Information Points located across the event site, each information point will have:

  • Event information
  • Travel information
  • Pay what you decide terminals
  • Sunscreen
  • Face paint / stickers – subject to availability
  • Dog water stations
  • Wristbands for aid in reuniting lost / found children or vulnerable people
  • Advice and top tips

Spaces of safety

There are a number of spaces on site to support those in need of some ‘timeout’ or to access a space this may be for a number of reasons including disability or vulnerability.

 

These spaces include:

  1. Sensory Spot (Community Area – Zone 2 Irvine’s Quay)
  2. Community Living Room (Community Zone – Zone 2 Irvine’s Quay)
  3. Scream Zone Bar LGBTQ place of safety (Navigation Point – Zone 4)
  4. Museum of Hartlepool (Zone 5 – closes at 17:00 daily)
  5. Lily Anne’s Well Being Team (Roaming, supporting across site)

Accessibility

Blue Badge Parking

The Blue Badge Parking is located in the closest car parks to the event site, only metres away from the first Tall Ship on Harbour Walk.

Blue Badge Parking permits can be purchased in advance through the website. 

Blue Badge Parking is located at:

  • Vision Retail Park
  • National Museum of the Royal Navy Hartlepool
  • Old Cemetery Road

Mobility Hire

Mobility scooters and wheelchairs can be hired in advance from our event website, these are offered by an organisation called Advanced Mobility. Hiring on the day is subject to availability, hiring in advance is recommended. Advanced Mobility is located on Harbour Walk, Zone 4. These can be pre-booked here.

 

Recharge Stations

A recharge station for mobility wheelchairs and scooters will be at the Advanced Mobility site and Information Points on Irvine Quay and Victoria Quay.

 

Assistance Dogs

Assistance Dogs are very welcome into the event site, we ask that they remain on a lead and with their owner at all times.

There is a dog water station located at each Information Point and dog waste will go in mixed waste bins.

 

Changing Place

We have two Changing Places on the event site.

The Changing Place at the National Museum of the Royal Navy Hartlepool is accessed using a radar key – all disabled persons should have one of these but also steward supervisors will have these. These facilities include wheelchair accessible peninsular toilet and a height adjustable adult sized changing benches, ceiling track hoist system, adequate space for disabled individual and up to two assistants.

The Changing Place in Zone 1 Victoria Quay is an attended service that includes an accessible toilet and changing facility designed specifically for people with disabilities. You’ll find a sink at wheelchair height, a toilet with drop down grab rails at either side, a full sized (6 ft) free standing and height adjustable changing bench and an electric ceiling tracked hoist which is compatible with all loop slings. Individuals will need to provide own sling

These rooms can also be used for quiet baby feeding spaces if required.

 

rules of entry

  • Children under the age of 14 years old must be accompanied by an adult
  • No alcohol to be brought onto the event site
  • No glass to be brought onto the event site
  • Dogs on leads
  • No cycling (authorised cycles only)
  • Illegal substances will not be permit
  • Zero tolerance on abuse to our event workforce
  • The organisers have the right to refuse access or remove patrons who do not comply with the conditions of entry
  • You agree that photographs and filming will take place across the event site

visitor smoking

Visitors are permitted to smoke and vape in outdoor locations of the event site with the exception of ships, seating areas, the family beach, and the community area. However, it is not encouraged and there is no dedicated area for this.

first aid

First aid provision is available during the event. If you require first aid please speak to a steward. 

toilets

Fully accessible toilets & changing places rooms are available across the event site. All of the accessible toilets are unisex and are available to wheelchair users.
